The 13th Meeting of the Steering group of the Priority Area 6 was held from 9th to 10th December 2020, for the first time in virtual format but with a high participation throughout the Danube Region as well as with a high motivation and positive mood of the participants, despite the special circumstances
In this two-day meeting, the focus of discussion was the progress and work done at the PA 6 level including the presentations of PA 6 Task Forces activities in the past year. Further discussions were conducted on detected gaps and challenges of the current situation caused by COVID – 19 pandemic and how to proceed with the PA 6 activities.
On strategic and policy level, the focus of discussion were Macro-regional strategies in the context of the EU Green Deal and in the strategic view – the interlinkages of the PA 6 targets and actions and new EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.
The Embedding process of the EUSDR into the mainstream EU programmes in the financial perspective 2021 – 2027 and national Operative programmes was presented and the possibilities of financing the implementation in a regards of the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and new INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme were discussed on the second day of the meeting.
The meeting was attended by 30 representatives, the Members and Observers of the PA 6 Steering Group, including Coordinators from the Priority Area 4 and 5, European Commission (DG Regio and DG Environment) and EUSDR National Coordinator from Croatia.
