The 21st Steering Group Meeting of the Priority Area 6 was held on 11th April 2024, in a virtual format. PACs informed about and gave an update on EUSDR and Priority Area 6 activities. PACs presented the results from the Priority Area 6 Survey on national priorities (“hot topics”) related to EUSDR / PA6. It is concluded that the majority of the identified thematic priorities of the line ministries involved in the PA6 Steering Group are already covered in the portfolio of PA6. Efforts need to be strengthened in topic of ecological connectivity, wetlands conservation and cross-PA cooperation. Thematic priorities identified and currently not included are ecological agriculture and nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. PA6 and its Steering Group will follow-up on these and other findings. The topic that was also discussed was identifying Danube Strategy Flagships for 2024.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the Task Forces where Chairs give a short update on state of play and next steps. Additionally, there was agreement to work on new visibility and communication plan for PA6 and Task Forces. The aim is to have umbrella visual identity that joins PA6 and TFs which will be used through communication materials.
Hosted by the SONDAR Task Force, next Steering Group Meeting will be organized in Austria, in September 2024.
