December 27, 2022in Featured

Within the DTP Project “Priority Area 06: Biodiversity, Landscapes, Air and Soils”, co-financed by the INTERREG VB Danube Transnational Cooperation Program for the period 2014 – 2020, policy report “Biodiversity cross-cutting issues through Priority Areas of the European strategy for the Danube region” was developed, with the aim to contribute to better understanding of the present state and provide recommendations how to direct future activities.

The Policy Report examines the state of play regarding importance of an integrated and inclusive approach in implementing objectives of the EUSDR across all priority areas, with a focus on green objectives, primary on biodiversity. It shows developments regarding green elements from EUSDR Action Plan 2010 to the new Action plan (2020), contribution of EUSDR Action plan for PA6 to European Green Plan, primarily the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, as well as contribution of pillar 2 “Environment” of EUSDR Action plan to horizontal policies as defined in Action Plan. Report identifies possibilities for synergies and cooperation across EUSDR PAs with PA6, key areas of cooperation and good practices related to preservation of biodiversity, landscape, soil and air quality.
